as if you got a website! i was sure this didnt exist when i was at wainstalls from sept 1996 to july 2003.
had fun remembering some of the times like the 125th anniversery of the school!
and the egg rolling every year. what fun!
everyhtings new now, even the headteacher and the recption class!

Wow - fantastic site!
I was a pupil at the school up till 1983. I really enjoyed my time there. I haven't lived in the area since 1991, but I brought my wife to see the school in 2005 as I was so proud of the place.

Didn't realise Mrs Bamforth was still there till recently? If you see this Mrs B, enjoy your retirement!

Whilst browsing through the Wainstalls School website I came across a write up regarding the Ash Green v Wainstalls 5-0 defeat. I have to say even though the school suffered a loss on the day, the mulit talented Liam Chapman managed to put together a very enthusiastic match report and save some potential goals. Look out Gary Linekar the next football mesiah has arrived.

Thanks for everyone's kind words, tears and love over the past few days. I will miss Wainstalls so much it hurts. Often we don't appreciate what we've got until it's gone and I know that all of us who have now left will feel the same.

However! As the staff of the school bought me a present of a trial flight in a microlight maybe they are glad to get rid of me! Possibly when they found out that I hadn't expired by scuba diving they thought they'd try their luck ditching me over the moors! I'll look forward to looking down on you all from a lofty height.

Message to Graeme Raven who lived at Hambleton Hill Farm Wainstalls all those years ago. We moved to Upper Hambleton Hill Farm back in 1979 from a gentleman called Ernest - any relation! My parents are still living there and my Father has run the village Post Office from his kitchen Breakfast Bar for about the last 4 years!

I found your site whilst surfing the net for anything to do with Wainstalls. My family moved to Wainstalls in 1946, and we lived at Hambleton Hill Farm, which overlooks the village and the school. I started at the school in 1949 and was there until we left Wainstalls for Sowerby Bridge in 1953. I loved Wainstalls, I remember walks to Whitewash Rock and building Snow Castles in the school yard. (When it snowed, it snowed), and I remember picking mushrooms in the fields above the Farm. The Doctors surgery was in the old Chapel and the shop was a wooden hut. There were walks on a sunday to the withens, and watching the cricket on the wicket behind the pub. (Where the Halifax bus used to turn around before heading back). But most of all I remember lying in the fields and listening to the curlews calling on a summer afternoon. I would love to hear from anyone who can tell me how things are in Wainstalls in this day and age. Carry on the good work.

Don't suppose there are any old school photos hanging around anywhere that you could put onto your webpage?Preferably photos from the 60's era(my time at Wainstalls school)!!As I've mentioned before,my mother was the school caretaker around this time and we all lived in the school house.Think I have a couple of old photos that I could maybe send to you?

I agree whole heartedly with Julie's comment. The children, Mr P and everyone at teh school work so well together and we should celebrate them all. How wonderful that they had us all dancing in the aisles at the christmas church service. Well done everyone!

I am having a great time at Wainstalls school. I have a few friends there, they are called Declan, Piers and Daniel. I am enjoying maths because it is fun.

I read the Inspection Report for Wainstalls and am very impressed with the achievements and attitudes of the Head Teacher, the teachers and staff, and the students. Keep up the good work!

As a former headteacher of the school I enjoyed studying your website and learning things about what the is school doing now. I recently, and suprisingly, discovered that I had been elected as a Fellow of the R.S.A. It's a pity that I coulddn't have had the certificate (stickyfoot)presented in assembly.

Just happened upon the site whilst going through a fit of nostalgia... Lovely to see my old school again and I did think it would be a good idea (for the site) to put up pictures of the schools classes through the years. I'm not sure if they still do it these days but every year there was a photographer (usually dear old Basil Fearnley) who'd do a school portrait...Wouldn't it be nice to see the pupils 'through the ages'. Just a suggestion anyway...

Spectated the school Xmas plays on Thursday 12.12.02, absolutely brilliant, excellent story line, very very funny, superb acting and musical work, such a pleasure to watch, better than anything on the tv ! ! Anyone video it, I'd love a copy ? Thanks to to the children and staff for all their hard work, and in such a short time....amazing ! !

With reference to you note about parking I would also like to point out that there are residents at the other side of the school that need to park thier cars and some of the parents not to mention the teachers are less than considerate sometimes I need to move my car several times a day

I like the Wainstalls web site because i can show my mommy and daddy pictures of my school and what is going on, i can also see what my cousins Matthew and Leanne Buckley are doing at school. I can also see what my friends Becky and Emelia Barker are doing.
