Let?s Not Be Complacent About Bullying
Our Anti-Bullying Week last week led to many interesting discussions in classes. Classic violent and aggressive bullying is rare at Wainstalls but we need to be constantly aware that children can be excluded and upset in more subtle ways. The key message we tried to send last week is that if your child is unhappy, they should talk to someone about it. Then we can intervene and help.
The Governing Body are currently reviewing our Anti-Bullying Policy and aim to present it to all parents for consultation sometime soon.

Picnic Fridays
A few brave-hearts ate their picnics outside on Friday ? everyone else opted for an indoor picnic! But the Grab-A-Bags themselves seemed to go down very well and our dream of children enjoying a Friday Picnic on the field in the sunshine remains! Don?t give up on this one! Order forms will be going out once again on Friday to be returned after half term.

Marathon Challenge
Don?t forget that these envelopes are due in by Friday ? we will then send off for the children?s rewards. We will let you know after half term how much money we have raised for Children With Leukaemia. If the children haven?t actually completed the challenge, then do send in whatever their sponsors think they deserve!

Do you have your own business? Are you wanting to drum up some trade? I?m sure that other parents at Wainstalls would want to support you. If you send in your business card we will place it in this newsletter as an advertisement and I?m sure you could make a small contribution to our school fund in return?

Message from the Friends of Wainstalls:

Pig Racing
Many thanks to everyone who supported FOW last Friday at the Annual Pig Racing fundraiser. I am pleased to announce that £406.00 was raised on the evening. An application is currently being made to HBOS to match fund this amount.
Tracey Wilkinson - Chairman FOW

Amen to that! I thought it was a fantastic event very well organised and fun for all the family. Thank you to everyone involved.
The W Factor is coming?
Look out for news after half term of The W Factor talent show organised by the Friends of Wainstalls. Full details to follow but we thought some children might want to start practising their acts?

We encourage all our children to wear sunhats on sunny days. Why not buy one of our new Wainstalls baseball caps? Just £4 each, they are available from the school office.

Following the success of Mrs Priestwood?s Cross Country Club last term, Claudia represented our school at the Calderdale Schools Cross Country Race. Claudia came 10th out of 22 - great running Claudia! Look out for further After-School Clubs next year. Judo has just been booked for the Autumn.
