About Us

Wainstalls School is situated some 3.5 miles out of Halifax in West Yorkshire on the edge of the Pennine moors. It stands over 1000ft above sea level and has more than its fair share of weather! At present we have 140 children on roll, organised into 5 classes.  You can read our prospectus in the documents section of the website.

Our Acting Headteacher is Mrs Rachel Priestwood pending the appointment of our new head starting in January 2010 and the Acting Deputy Head is Mrs Adelle Hustler. Our other teachers are: Mrs Morley, Mrs Crawshaw, Mrs Piper and Mrs Foxon.

Every adult in the school works tirelessly to enable each child to achieve their best.We are proud of the school and value the part each child has to play in making it a better place. 

We are supported by a very hard working group of governors and parents. They all help to make the school a place where we can work hard and play hard.The Friends of Wainstalls is our PTA and it has helped raise money for all sorts of things over the last few years..
